Key Responsibilities:
- Install and test IP access control, intercom, and physical security equipment.
- Perform basic programming tasks (e.g., adding card readers, users, door controllers).
- Conduct regular and preventative maintenance as per agreements and procedures.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve access control system issues.
- Provide technical support to customers and address system functionality concerns.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities to stay updated on technical knowledge.
- Communicate project status with company personnel and project managers.
- Maintain records of installations, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Keep accurate inventory records of all parts, materials, equipment, and tools.
- Review job files, schematics, and technical data for efficient inspection.
- Complete tasks according to specified cost and budget.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience as a physical security installer or service technician.
- Trade School or an Associate's degree in electronics or related field preferred.
- Certification and knowledge of ProdataKey, DSC Intrusion, Digital Watchdog, or similar systems is a plus.
- Strong technical skills in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting access control systems and components using the proper tools and equipment is a plus.
- Reliable transportation, a valid Driver's License, and clean driving record.
- Working mobile phone required. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks and operate necessary tools and equipment.
- Frequently push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, and reach.
- Good speaking, hearing, and visual abilities, including near and far acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to various weather conditions when working outdoors.
- May occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and risk of electric shock.
- Primarily works on-site at various locations; occasionally travels for installation and maintenance.
- Works near moving mechanical parts and in various environments, including heights and confined spaces. Requires proper PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
